BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Holy Cross women's tennis team was defeated by Lafayette 4-1 at the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament. The Leopards improve to 5-11 overall and move on to face Boston University in the quarterfinals on Friday, while the Crusaders finish the season at 6-14.
Holy Cross began the day by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Senior

Ahana Nagarkatti posted a 6-3 victory over Olivia Boeckman and Maureen McCormack at No. 1, while senior
Elizabeth Gibbons and freshman
Jasmine Rahman added a 6-2 win over Eleanor Campbell and Melanie Sparhawk at No. 2.
But Lafayette came back to win the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 singles matches to wrap up the overall victory. The No. 5 and 6 matches were stopped once the overall outcome was determined.
