Box Score SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Holy Cross baseball team fell to Bryant, 15-5, on Tuesday, April 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bryant jumped out to an 8-0 lead by the second inning, and a solo homer pushed that advantage to 9-0 in the third inning.
- A four-run fourth by the Bulldogs extended the lead to 13-0.
- The Crusaders got in the board in the top of the sixth; senior catcher Angelo D'Acunto hit a two-out single to score freshman pinch runner Tyler Mudd, and sophomore shortstop Sam Kirkpatrick scored after a Bryant error to make the score 13-2.
- Bryant got a run back in the bottom of the sixth with another home run.
- Freshman third baseman Brendan Jones led off the seventh with a double, and he came home after a single to left-center by freshman center fielder Connor Cooney. Cooney moved to third after a groundout and a stolen base, and then scored on an RBI single by Mudd, bringing the Crusaders within 14-4.
- Bryant had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to score its 15th run of the day.
- Cooney tripled to lead off the ninth inning, and scored on a sac fly to make the score 15-5.
DUE UP:
- The Crusaders host Rhode Island on Wednesday, April 13 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
- First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
