EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Holy Cross baseball team fell by a score of 6-3 to North Carolina A&T on Sunday, March 6 at War Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After Alec Seaton drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the first, he stole second with two outs and then scored on a single to left-center, giving the Aggies a 1-0 lead.
- Cort Maynard hit a double down the left-field line with one out in the second, and a single by TJ Ash fell just out of the reach of the diving freshman center fielder Connor Cooney, extending the lead to 2-0.
- Holy Cross put a pair of runners on base in the third after sophomore right fielder Jake McElroy singled to center and freshman third baseman Nick Wang drew a walk. Freshman designated hitter Sean Scanlon followed with a single up the middle, scoring a run for the Crusaders.
- Xavier Bussey hit a home run to center field in the third, getting the run back for the Aggies and making it a 3-1 game. Later in the frame, with runners on the corners, the runner at first got caught in a rundown, but the runner at third scored to give North Carolina A&T a 4-1 advantage.
- Freshman catcher Andrew Whinney led off the fourth with a walk, and freshman second baseman Brendan Jones singled to put runners on the corners with nobody out. McElroy singled to left-center to bring Holy Cross within 4-2 and freshman shortstop Connor Peek hit a deep sac fly to make it a 4-3 game.
- North Carolina A&T put runners on second and third with nobody out in the seventh, and back-to-back sacrifice flies to right field extended the lead to 6-3.
- Holy Cross put two runners aboard in a two-out rally attempt in the ninth, with back-to-back singles from McElroy and Peek, but a diving catch on a deep fly by Cooney ended the game.
