Declan O'Flynn posted wins in both singles and doubles action, but the Holy Cross men's tennis team was defeated by Sacred Heart 4-3 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders fall to 0-3 on the year, while the Pioneers improve to 1-1 overall.
Holy Cross started the day by winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Clark and senior
Alexander Ruenhorst posted a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot, then O'Flynn and sophomore
Connor Nelson pulled out a 7-6 (8-6) victory at No. 2 to take the point.
In singles action, Clark recorded a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 3 and O'Flynn came out on top at the No. 6 spot 6-0, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4). But Sacred Heart won the remainder of the singles matches to earn the victory.
Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 2, when it takes part in the Merrimack Invitational.
