Men’s track and field finishes day one at Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y.— The Holy Cross men's track and field team wrapped up day one of competition at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships.

DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sophomore TJ Duggan posted a seventh-place finish in the pole vault, jumping 4.38 meters.
  • Senior Michael Pichay claimed a fifth-place finish in the long jump, with a mark of 6.87 meters.
  • Freshman Mike Mazzocca advanced to the 110 meter hurdle finals, after running a time of 14.62, the fourth-best time of the day.
  • Senior Gabe Piepergerdes and junior Cameron Lloyd each advanced to the 400 meter hurdle finals. Piepergerdes' ran a 52.82 and had the fastest time of the day, while Lloyd had the eighth-best time of 57.73.
  • The 4x800 relay team of sophomore Jack Welch, senior Peter Mitchell, junior Corey Kumamoto and sophomore Kyle Culley finished in fifth-place with a time of 8:06.13.

  • The Crusaders will finish out the final day of the Patriot League Outdoor Championship on Saturday, May 1.
