Sophomore linebacker
Jacob Dobbs of the Holy Cross football team was named the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, March 30.
Dobbs finished with 12 tackles, including nine solo tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a half-sack in Holy Cross' 34-24 victory over Fordham on Saturday, March 27. Dobbs and the Crusaders' defense held the Rams' offense to 10 second-half points to allow the comeback victory. Holy Cross held Fordham to just 86 rushing yards in a key North Division win.
On Monday, March 29, Dobbs was also named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week.
Dobbs and the Crusaders will next be in action on Saturday, April 3 against Bucknell. Kickoff at Fitton Field is set for 1 p.m.
