The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this weekend to face Siena on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 2:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Saints will be televised live by NBC Sports Boston, and can be seen online through the Patriot League on ESPN+.
The Holy Cross Varsity Club will be formally inducting its Classes of 2020 and 2021 this weekend, and the 11 honorees will be recognized at halftime of Saturday's game. Included among the inductees are former men's basketball coach
Ralph Willard and standout guard Jave Meade.
Holy Cross enters the Siena game with an overall record of 2-8 on the year. The Crusaders are coming off a 74-59 setback at Fairfield on Wednesday and will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Holy Cross currently leads the Patriot League in blocked shots (4.2 blocks per game), while standing second in three-point field goal percentage (37.7 percent) and fourth in steals (6.9 steals per game).
Freshman guard
Kyrell Luc has led the Crusaders by averaging 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while hitting 46.4 percent (13 of 28) of his attempts from three-point range. Sophomore guard
Judson Martindale has also been playing well, with averages of 11.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest. In addition, senior forward
Gerrale Gates has averaged 11.0 points and 7.4 boards per game.
Siena currently has a 3-6 overall record this season, with a 1-1 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Saints are coming off a 60-58 victory at St. Peter's on Sunday. Junior guard Colby Rogers has led the team by averaging 13.9 points per game while hitting 42.6 percent (26 of 61) of his shots from beyond the three-point arc. Senior forward Jackson Stormo is also off to a strong start this season, averaging 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.Â
After the game with Siena, Holy Cross will take a week off for finals before returning to action at Harvard on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 2:00 p.m.
