Four members of the Holy Cross football team have earned 2021 Academic All-District I honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, and the award recognizes outstanding combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Peter Oliver became a three-time Academic All-District honoree, while senior defensive lineman
Jason Modak and senior defensive back
Grant Holloman became two-time selections. Junior linebacker
Jacob Dobbs earned the honor for the first time in his career.
Oliver, who previously received CoSIDA honors during the 2019 and 2020-21 seasons, owns a 3.95 grade-point average as a chemistry and Spanish double major. This season, Oliver has rushed for a Patriot League-leading 659 yards, scoring three touchdowns on 120 carries. He averages 73.2 yards per contest and 5.5 yards per carry. Oliver was named a semifinalist for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy, and is also a two-time Academic All-Patriot League selection in addition to being an All-Patriot League honoree in the Spring 2021 season. He is also a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.
Modak is an economics major and has a 3.64 GPA; he was named an Academic All-District honoree in 2020-21. This year, he has record 19 tackles, including three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also returned an interception for a 29-yard touchdown in the Crusaders' season opener against UConn on Sept. 4. Modak is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection and has been named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar twice.
Holloman, a two-time captain, has a 3.51 GPA as a political science major. He previously earned Academic All-District honors during the 2020-21 season, in addition to All-Patriot League honors, and is a four-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. On the field this year, Holloman has totaled 39 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, an interception, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup.
Dobbs owns a 3.68 GPA as an economics major. Dobbs, a two-time captain, was recently added to the watch list for the 2021 Buck Buchanan Award, which is awarded annually to the top defensive player in FCS. During the 2021 season, Dobbs ranks tied for eighth among all FCS players with 10.4 total tackles per game; he leads the Patriot League with 14.5 tackles for loss and 56 solo tackles. In total this year, Dobbs has 104 tackles, eight sacks, four quarterback hurries and three pass breakups. He is a two-time All-Patriot League selection and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice.
By earning Academic All-District honors, Oliver, Modak, Holloman and Dobbs will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The Academic All-America team will be announced in mid-December.
