WORCESTER, Mass. — Four different players won in both singles and doubles action as the Holy Cross men's tennis team defeated Assumption 5-2 at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Crusaders improve to 1-3 on the season with the victory.
Holy Cross began the day by winning all three doubles matches to take the doubles point, led by senior
Will Chen and sophomore
William Kelleher with a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 spot. Junior
Declan O'Flynn and freshman
Diego Tran Rosado added a 6-4 win at No. 2, while freshman
Jeremy Clark and senior
Alexander Ruenhorst had a 6-0 victory at No. 3.
Chen continued his strong play at No. 1 singles with a three-set victory (6-1, 4-6, 6-2), while Kelleher picked up a win at the No. 2 spot (6-4, 3-6, 6-0). Other winners included O'Flynn at No. 5 (6-1, 6-1) and Tran Rosado at No. 6 (6-3, 6-1).
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 10, when it plays host to Siena at 11:00 a.m.
