Final Results
PINEHURST, N.C. – Junior Harrison Thayer finished ninth as an individual, as the Holy Cross men's golf team placed ninth out of 13 schools in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at the Pinehurst Resort Course No. 8. Thayer totaled 223 strokes over three rounds to conclude the tournament at 10-over par.
Junior Connor Phillips tied for 32nd place with a 231, while sophomore Collin Fitzpatrick tied for 37th with a 232. In addition, freshman Christian Emmerich tied for 47th with a 235 and freshman Peter Radler came in 68th with a 247.
Elon won the team title with a three-round total of 878, while Holy Cross posted a 921. Elon's Graham Hutchinson earned medalist honors after finishing at even par (213).
The Crusaders return to action when they take part in the Carpet Bagger Classic at the Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Md., from March 21-22.
BEYOND THE RESULTS:
• Thayer earned a top 10 finish for the second time in his last three tournaments.
• The Crusaders' team score of 303 in round two tied for the second-lowest total of the day.
