PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell in overtime to Robert Morris in the second game of the best-of-three Atlantic Hockey First Round, 2-1. The series is now tied, 1-1, and will conclude on Sunday, March 8, at 7:05 p.m.
Despite the Colonials taking a 1-0 lead early in the game on the power play, Holy Cross controlled the pace of play through the opening period. The Crusaders held a 14-12 shot advantage.
Holy Cross held an 18-11 shot advantage in the second frame. Nearing the midpoint,
Pete Kessel scored to extend his goal streak to four games and even the game, 1-1.
The third period saw a shot advantage for Robert Morris, 12-7, as the Colonials had three separate power play opportunities.
Matt Radomsky finished regulation with 34 saves and the Crusaders had 39 shots on goal in 60 minutes.
Just over four minutes into the overtime frame, Robert Morris struck on a point shot to take the game, 2-1.
