Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team fell at Bentley, 3-2.
Pete Kessel and
Logan Ferguson picked up goals for the Crusaders while
Matt Radomsky turned aside 27 shots.
Just over two minutes into the game, the Crusaders had a five-minute power play and generated two shots. Holy Cross outshot Bentley for a majority of the period, but the Falcons capitalized on a power play with under five minutes to play in the opening frame. Holy Cross held an 11-10 shot advantage after the opening 20 minutes.
The Crusaders evened up the score early in the second period as
Logan Ferguson picked up his seventh goal of the season. The Falcons put another 10 shots on frame to take the shot advantage in the second period.
Bentley took a 3-1 lead with two power play goals seven minutes into the third period. The Crusaders showed a lot of offensive pressure with
Jake Pappalardo earning a chance on a breakaway and
Conner Jean having a point blank shot from the slot. Finally,
Pete Kessel broke through to put Holy Cross within one with 12 minutes to play, 3-2.
The Crusaders worked for under a minute with an extra attacker but could not grab the equalizer.
