WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this weekend to face Lafayette in a 2:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 15. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be televised live by Spectrum News 1 and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross will be holding its Salute to Service, with all active and retired military personnel and first responders receiving two free tickets to the game. This is also
Worcester County Weekend, with tickets available to Worcester County residents for just $5.00 each.
The Crusaders stand 3-23 overall this season with a 2-11 mark against Patriot League opponents. Holy Cross has lost its last six games since posting a 96-95 overtime victory over Lehigh on Jan. 22.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 17.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while hitting 56.5 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior guard
Austin Butler has added 12.0 points, 6.4 boards and 2.5 assists per contest, while junior forward
Connor Niego is chipping in with 9.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Lafayette stands 15-9 overall this year with a 7-6 mark in Patriot League play. The Leopards have lost their last two games, including a 65-48 setback at Army West Point on Wednesday night.
Junior guard Justin Jaworski has led the team by averaging 17.1 points and 2.8 assists per game, while making 36.0 percent of his three-point attempts. Junior guard E.J. Stephens has put up 11.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest, and senior forward Myles Cherry has added 10.1 points and 7.0 boards per game.Â
Following the contest with Lafayette, Holy Cross will remain at home to face Bucknell on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m.
