WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this week, heading to Lafayette for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be televised live by the Lafayette Sports Network and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross is coming off a 63-61 victory over Navy on Sunday, where it came back to win in the closing seconds. The Crusaders are currently tied for third place in the Patriot League at 1-1, while standing 2-13 overall.
Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen has led the team by averaging 16.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while hitting 57.1 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard
Drew Lowder has added 14.1 points and 3.4 assists per contest, while junior guard
Austin Butler is chipping in with 11.3 points, 7.4 boards and 2.4 assists per game.
Lafayette stands 8-5 overall this year with an 0-2 mark in Patriot League play. The Leopards have lost three of their last four games, including a 78-66 setback against Bucknell on Sunday.
Junior guard Justin Jaworski has led the team by averaging 18.4 points and 2.8 assists per game, while making 41.2 percent of his three-point attempts. Junior guard E.J. Stephens has put up 11.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest, and senior forward Myles Cherry has added 10.6 points and 6.5 boards per game. Lafayette is led by head coach Fran O'Hanlon, who stands 331-400 in 25 seasons with the Leopards.
Following the game with Lafayette, Holy Cross will travel to Bucknell for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, Jan. 11.
