WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team was edged by no. 20 Quinnipiac, 4-3, after a comeback effort fell short.
Kevin Darrar scored his third goal in his last three games played and
Matt Radomsky set a new career high with 44 saves.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period. Quinnipiac started the game outshooting the Crusaders, 10-1, and took a 2-0 lead midway through the opening frame. The Crusaders got on the board when
Ryan Leibold scored his first goal of the season, 2-1. Quinnipiac quickly responded and took back the two goal lead.
Less than five minutes into the second period, Quinnipiac added to its lead to push the game to 4-1. The Crusaders chipped away at the Bobcat lead, as
Kevin Darrar fired off a goal with just over five minutes in to play the period, 4-2.
Matt Radomsky made 29 saves after 40 minutes.
Holy Cross continued to find offense as
Alex Peterson put them within one, 4-3, early in the third period. Radomsky turned aside all 15 shots he faced in the final frame, but the Crusaders comeback was halted.

Kevin Darrar in the neutral zone. Darrar fired a shot through the Quinnipiac defense to score in the top corner of the net.

Logan Ferguson skated into the offensive zone and fed
Dalton Skelly at the top of the circle. Skelly then sent a quick pass that
Alex Peterson tipped in through Quinnipiac's Keith Petruzzelli's five-hole.
