NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Sophomore Karter Seitz and senior Bobby Tuzzio led the Holy Cross men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the National Catholic Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, on Friday, Sept. 20.
The Crusaders recorded 211 points to finish just behind Notre Dame (15 points), Walsh (69), Dayton (82), Canisius (140) and Loras (148) in the 21-team field. The sixth-place finish is the Crusaders' highest finish at the meet since 2009.
TOP FIVE:
- Seitz placed 28th, finishing the five-mile course in a time of 26:47.67.
- Tuzzio was close behind in 30th, running a time of 26:51.64.
- Sophomore Andrew Corbett placed 50th, clocking in at 27:30.02.
- Freshman Brendan Fay ran a time of 27:48.15 to place 59th.
- Sophomore Corey Kumamoto finished in 64th to round out the Holy Cross scoring, completing the course in 27:57.87.
OTHER RESULTS:
- Freshman Kyle VanDermark finished 70th, running a time of 28:23.83.
- Sophomore Joseph Leland was right behind VanDermark in 71st, clocking in at 28:30.47.
- Freshman Liam Christman placed 85th, posting a time of 29:03.28.

- Other members of the Holy Cross men's cross country team will be competing at the UMass Dartmouth Invite on Saturday, Sept. 21.
