BRIGHTON, Mass. – Despite a big day at the plate by freshman right fielder Ben Malgeri, the Holy Cross baseball team fell to Boston College, 11-4, on Tuesday, March 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Crusaders loaded the bases with one out in the first after junior left fielder Jared Enders walked, Malgeri singled and sophomore second baseman Peter Dudunakis was hit by a pitch. Senior third baseman Alex Gionis walked in Holy Cross' first run, and after a pitching change, junior shortstop Chris Rinaldi walked in another to give the Crusaders an early 2-0 lead.
- The Eagles immediately responded, adding three runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead.
- Holy Cross had another run in the top of the second after Malgeri hit a two-out double and junior center fielder Austin Masel brought him home with a single to right field, knotting the game at 3-3.
- Boston College took a 4-3 lead after the second inning, and had a five-run third to build its lead to 9-3.
- The Crusaders tacked on one more run in the top of the fourth after Malgeri had an RBI triple to score Livingston.
- The Eagles had a run in the fourth and another in the sixth for an 11-4 advantage.

- Holy Cross hits the road to face Northeastern in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 16.
- First pitch is set for 11 a.m. at Friedman Diamond in Brookline, Mass.
