ANNAPOLIS, Maryland — Two athletes posted top-two finishes for the Holy Cross women's track and field team on the first day of the Patriot League Indoor Championship on Saturday, February 16.
Sophomore Christa Jay Moore placed second in the finals of the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 3.80 meters, matching a season-best in the event.
Senior Alexandra Curtin also finished in second in the long jump, posting a personal-best and ECAC-qualifying mark of 5.87 meters. She additionally qualified for the finals of the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.81 seconds and ran a personal best in the 200 meters, clocking in at 25.41 seconds.
Junior Allie Smiley placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.61 meters.
Junior Morgan Sanders qualified for the finals of the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 9.03 seconds.
The quartet of Sophia Maynard, junior Allison McArdle, Grace Hoelscher and Marina MacKinnon put together an eighth-place finish in the 4x800 meter relay, running a time of 9:12.19.
The Patriot League Indoor Championship will conclude on Sunday, February 17. The meet can be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network beginning at 11:45 a.m.
