WORCESTER, Mass. - Following a week off, the Holy Cross men's basketball team returns to action when it plays host to Northeastern on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7:00 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Huskies will be shown live on the Patriot League Network, and can be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
In support of the Worcester Fire Department and fallen firefighter Lt. Jason Menard, Holy Cross is holding a $5 for Ladder 5 ticket fundraiser. In honor of Lt. Menard and in support of his family, a special $10 ticket is available with $5 of each ticket donated directly to the Menard Children's Fund.
Holy Cross stands 0-3 so far this season, dropping its first three games to No. 7 Maryland (95-71), New Hampshire (87-83) and Fairfield (68-63 in overtime). Freshman guard
Drew Lowder has led the team by averaging 18.0 points and 4.3 assists per game, while hitting 47.4 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Freshman forward
Joe Pridgen is also off to a strong start, putting up 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. In addition, junior forward
Connor Niego has averaged 10.7 points and 3.7 boards per game. The Crusaders are in their first year under head coach
Brett Nelson, and are coming off a 2018-19 season in which they went 16-17 overall and 6-12 in the Patriot League.
Northeastern is off to a 2-2 start this year, defeating Boston University (72-67) and Harvard (84-79) while falling to Massachusetts (80-71) and Old Dominion (76-69). Senior guard Jordan Roland has averaged 31.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game so far this season while hitting 58.9 percent of his field goal attempts. Senior guard Bolden Brace has added 9.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Northeastern is coming off a 2018-19 season in which it went 23-11 overall, won the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
After the contest with Northeastern, Holy Cross will play host to Harvard on Friday, Nov. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
