WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team will travel to Boston College on Feb. 1 before returning home to take on Vermont on Feb. 3. The game against the Catamounts will be head coach Peter Van Buskirk's 500th on the Crusaders' bench.
Scouting the Eagles
• Currently the No. 7 team in the country, Boston College is led by Megan Keller and her impressive 14-20-34 stat line. Daryl Watts has also been having a strong year with 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points.
• Maddy McArthur has spent most of the time in between the pipes for the Eagles posting a 2.04 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
• BC has converted 17% of its power play chances and killed 81.1% of its penalties.
Scouting the Catamounts
• Eve-Audrey Picard has paced Vermont this year with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points. Kristina Shanahan (5-8-13) and Saana Valkama (5-7-12) are the two other Catamounts who have posted double-digit point seasons to this point.
• Melissa Black has played 21 games in goal and has allowed 2.83 goals against per game, while recording a .900 save percentage.
• The Catamount have found the back of the net on 11.9% of their man advantage opportunities and have successfully killed 91.2% of their penalties.
Recapping Last Weekend
• The Crusaders played a home-and-home with New Hampshire and dropped both games by scores of 4-1 and 3-1.
• Katie MacCuaig scored her first of the year at the Wildcats' and Allison Attea did the same at the Hart Center.
• Jada Brenon stopped 76 shots on the weekend with a .916 save percentage.
Team Leaders
• Rachel Moore leads the team in both assists (7) and points (13).
• Moore shares the team lead in goals with Maeve Reilly with six.
• Reilly leads the team with three power play goals.
100 Game Club
• The Crusaders currently have four players on their roster that have played more than 100 games in their careers. Matthias passed that threshold against Northeasern on Dec. 2. Danielle Doherty did the same against Maine in the team's 2-2 tie on Jan. 12, Jackie Gellner on Jan. 26 at UNH, and Reilly on Jan. 27 at home against the Wildcats.
• Tori Messina currently sits at 99 career games.
