WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team will play a home-and-home series this weekend against Boston University, at home on Friday at 7 p.m. and in Boston on Saturday at 3 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the Crusaders and Terriers in a little over 18 years, last facing off on Nov. 12, 2000.
Talking Points
• Holy Cross recorded its first tie in Hockey East action, tying Maine, 2-2, last Saturday at the Hart Center.
• Maeve Reilly scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season to tie things up at 1-1 in the third period. Julie Matthias followed shortly after with one of her own to give the Crusaders the lead.
• Maine scored with less than one second on the clock to tie the game at 2-2, where it would stay through overtime.
• Holy Cross' two games on Jan. 4 and 5, 4-3 and 6-3 losses to UConn, marked the highest two-game goal total for the Crusaders on the season.
• Rachel Moore led the way with five points from three goals and two assists, including a career-high three points in Friday's matchup. She earned ckSmithSuperior Crusader of the Week honors that week for her efforts. Moore now has 10 points (5g, 5a) on the season.
• Out of the 15 total points Holy Cross accumulated over the two games, its top line of Moore, Matthias (2g, 2a), and Carlie Magier (3a) were responsible for 12 of them.
• Emma Lange is second in all of Hockey East with 59 blocked shots.
• Reilly is tied for ninth with three power play goals. In conference games only, she is tied for fourth.
• In conference matchups, Magier is tied for eighth in freshman scoring with two goals, five assists, and seven points.
Scouting the Terriers
• BU is led by Jesse Compher's 37 points from 12 goals and 25 assists. Her points and assists both lead all of Hockey East. Sammy Davis leads the team with 14 goals.
• Corinne Schroeder, the reigning National Goaltender of the Month, has posted a .935 save percentage and a 1.83 goals against average in 19 games while posting a 9-5-5 record.
• The Terriers have converted 22.4% of their power play opportunities and killed 82.7% of their penalities.
• While outside of the top 10 in the most recent polls, BU received votes and if the poll extended beyond 10, the Terriers would be 11.
100 Game Club
• The Crusaders currently have two players on their roster that have played more than 100 games in their careers. Matthias passed that threshold five games ago against Northeasern on Dec. 2. Danielle Doherty did the same against Maine in the team's 2-2 tie on Jan. 12.
• Three other players are on track to reach their 100th game before the end of the 2018-19 season. Reilly has played 96 games to this point, while Tori Messina and Jackie Gellner sit at 97.
Thank You Coach Van Buskirk
• After 34 years at Holy Cross, 19 as the head coach of the women's hockey team, Peter Van Buskirk has announced that he will retire at the end of this season.
• He has posted a 295-166-33 record as coach of the women and is currently at 494 career games on their bench. He will hit game number 500 at home against Vermont on Feb. 3.
• Current associate head coach Katie Lachapelle will take over as head coach at the end of the season.

• The Crusaders will face New Hampshire next weekend for the second and third time this season. They'll travel to Durham for a 2 p.m. matchup on Jan. 26 before returning home on Jan. 27 for a 1 p.m. start.
