SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team dropped a 1-0 game at American International on Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders (12-14-7, 11-10-6 AHC) and the Yellow Jackets (11-17-4, 10-12-4 AHC) battled through two scoreless periods, both teams with a number of chances. AIC led in shots, 24-12, after two periods.
Nearly six minutes into the final frame, AIC put one on the board. Holy Cross sustained offensive pressure but could not convert, despite playing with an extra man for the final minute of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1-0 AIC (3rd, 5:50, EV): In a broken play in the Crusaders defensive zone, Yellow Jackets' Jared Pike picked up the puck at the top of the slot and sent in a snap shot to the top left corner.
