WINCHENDON, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team defeated the Franklin Pierce Ravens, 6-0, on Saturday, Feb. 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1-0 HC (1st, 6:44, EV): Junior Maeve Reilly scored her eighth goal of the season on a rebounded shot from senior Kara Violette and freshman Allison Attea.
2-0 HC (1st,00:13, EV): Just 13 seconds into the second period, Violette scored off of a Franklin Pierce turnover in their defensive zone.
3-0 HC (2nd, 12:05, PP): Junior Tori Messina shot through multiple Franklin Pierce defenders to get the puck by Madison Murray.
4-0 HC (3rd, 4:30, EV): Freshman Antonia Matzka shot from the right point and freshman Katie MacCuaig was there for a quick finish on the rebound at the left post.
5-0 HC (3rd, 11:29, EV): Sophomore Maggie Hallisey scored at the left post during a scramble in front of the goal.
6-0 HC (3rd, 18:10, EV): MacCuaig scored her second of the game from rebound off of Messina's shot.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Reilly tallied one goal and one assist for her second straight multi-point game.
- Violette and Messina also added one goal and one assist each for their second straight multi-point games.
- MacCuaig had two goals. The freshman forward has recorded multi-goal games three times this season.
- Junior Sam Girard had two helpers and has 14 on the season.
- Sophomore Marcia LaPlante recorded 15 saves and improves to 5-0-0 on the season.
