The Holy Cross women's hockey team will travel to Harvard on Tuesday, Nov. 20 for a 6:00 p.m. matchup with the Crimson. It will be the Crusaders' final non-Hockey East game of the season.
Talking Points
• Amanda Kewer leads the team with four points.
• Carlie Magier, Maeve Reilly, and Kewer are tied for the team lead with two goals each.
• Five Crusaders are tied for the team-high of two assists including Danielle Doherty, Katie MacCuaig, Rachel Moore, Emma Lange, and Kewer.
• Lange also is third in Hockey East with 20 blocked shots. Hannah Gillis is eighth with 16.
• The Crusaders scored their first power play goal of the season against Merrimack on Nov. 10 and held their first lead in a Hockey East game against New Hampshire on Nov. 17.
Recapping Last Weekend
• The Crusaders only played one game last weekend against New Hampshire.
• Holy Cross took the lead, its first against Hockey East competition, in the first period off of Antonia Matzka's first score of the season.
• Jada Brenon recorded a career-high 54 saves in the contest.
Scouting the Crimson
• Harvard has been led by Dominique Petrie so far this season. She has recorded three goals and one assist for a team leading four points.
• Three players are tied for second with three points.
• Lindsay Reed has played four games in goal for the Crimson and has allowed 1.23 goals against per game with a .964 save percentage.
• The Crimson have converted on 5.9% of their power plays while killing 76.5% of their penalties.
Last Time Against Harvard
• The Crusaders faced off agaisnt the Crimson last season in ahome-and-home series.
• Holy Cross dropped the first game, 8-3, with Sam Girard, Reilly, and Doherty registering the goals.
• In the second game, the Crusaders held the Crimson scoreless and Julie Matthias netted two to grab the victory.
Freshman Impact
• Four freshman have recorded points so far this season for the Crusaders.
• Magier, Lange, and Sommer Ross lead the class with two points each. Magier has scored two goals, Lange has recroded two assists, and Ross has a goal and an assist.
• Skye Ziehwein has registered one assist on the year.
Inaugural Season in Hockey East
• This is Holy Cross' first season as a member of Hockey East.
• In the preseason poll, the Crusaders were ranked tenth out of ten teams in the conference. Boston College, Northeastern, and Maine claimed the top three spots respectively.
• The team faced a few Division I opponents last season, losing to New Hampshire, Dartmouth, and Harvard, but also claiming a 2-0 win over the Crimson in Worcester.
