WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's tennis team defeated Clark University, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon. The Crusaders swept their competitors for the second time this fall, having beaten St. Anselm 7-0 in September.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Sophia Papa in No. 2 singles, freshman Maddie DeNucci in No. 3 singles, senior Jennifer Kary in No. 4 singles, and senior Caroline Kam in No. 5 singles all defeated their competition in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets.
- Sophomore Alexandra Smith picked up her first career win in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
- Senior Allison Reiling won her No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-0.
- Reiling and Kam combined to win No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
- Papa and senior Morgan McGuire took No. 2 doubles 8-2.
- In No. 3 doubles, Kary and DeNucci claimed the 8-0 victory.
