WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Jenna Gasparrini has been named the ckSmithSuperior Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 22-28. Gasparrini helped lead the Holy Cross women's cross country team to a seventh place finish at the Patriot League Championship on Saturday.
During the Patriot League Championship, Gasparrini finished in second place overall with a time of 21:50.9 on the six-kilometer course. She posted the best individual finish by a Crusader at the Patriot League Championship since the 2009 season, when Paige Sutherland came in second. In addition, Gasparrini's second-place finish earned her first team All-Patriot League honors.
On the season, Gasparrini has posted the fastest time on the team in all six races she has run.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Nov. 9, when they take part in the NCAA Northeast Regional in Amherst, N.Y.
