Holy Cross Opens Hockey East Play
• The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team is set to begin Hockey East play this weekend with a pair of games against Providence on Friday Oct. 12 and UConn on Saturday Oct. 13.

Recapping Last Weekend
• The Crusaders traveled to RPI to take on the Engineers for one game last Saturday.
• Holy Cross came away with its first result against RPI, a 1-1 tie. The closest game between the two before now had been a 3-1 Crusaders loss back in 2001.
• The Crusaders trailed through two and a half periods, but with eight minutes remaining, senior Amanda Kewer came up big and scored to tie it up off assists from sophomore Katie MacCuaig and junior Victoria Young.
• Holy Cross outshot RPI, 18-7, in the third period and overtime.
• Sophomore goalie Julia Pelletier was strong in goal for the Crusaders, picking up 28 saves.

Scouting the Friars
• Providence has played two games so far this season and come away with two wins, 4-1 and 4-3 against Bemidji State University.
• Maureen Murphy has gotten off to a fast start, ledaing the team with four points from three goals and one assist.
• Four different Friars are tied for second on the team with two points from a goal and an assist.
• Madison Myers and Sandra Abstreiter have started a game each in goal for Providence and have averaged two goals against per game and a .909 save percentage.

Unfamiliar Faces
• This will be the first ever meeting between Holy Cross and Providence.

Scouting the Huskies
• UConn is 3-0 on the year after two wins against St. Cloud State and one against Hokcey East foe Vermont.
• The Huskies have allowed two goals in each of their three games so far.
• Natalie Snodgrass leads the team (2-3-5) and Morgan Wabick (1-3-4) is right behind her.
• Morgan Fisher has started all three games in goal, allowing 1.98 goals per game with a .931 save percentage.

Last Time Against UConn
• The Crusaders are 4-0 in program history against the Huskies, but the two sides have not faced off since 2001.
• In the matchup, the Crusaders won, 6-1, but that was before the start of Women's Hockey East.
