The Lead: The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving teams placed second out of four teams at the Worcester City Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. Two Crusaders received the Female Swimmer of the Meet and Female Diver of the Meet awards.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Sophomore Kayleigh Hoagland received the Female Swimmer of the Meet Award. Hoagland placed first in three events: 50 free (24.95), 100 free (54.79) and 200 free (1:58.95). She set meet records in the 50 free and 200 free races.
  • Junior Casey Sherman received the Female Diver of the Meet award for her dives in the 1m (290.15) and 3m (321.90), which were both meet records. She placed first in both events and qualifies for the NCAA Zone Meet.

The Crusaders will host Scared Heart on Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
