Devin Brindle and sophomore
Brenna Short both won two events, but the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Bucknell 198-102 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Bison start the year at 1-0 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Brindle won both the 50-yard freestyle (24.48) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.37), in addition to coming in second in the 100-yard butterfly (57.33).
• Short claimed first place in both the one-meter (259.20) and three-meter (265.73) diving.
• Freshman
Jillian James also performed well in diving, coming in second in both the one-meter (236.63) and three-meter (250.20) events.
• Other Crusaders to finish in second place included junior
Kat Anticev (1,000-yard freestyle / 10:45.10), junior
Megan Nelson (200-yard butterfly / 2:10.64) and sophomore
Ellie Reinhart (100-yard backstroke / 59.27).
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24, when it travels to Iona for a 4 p.m. meet.
