The Lead: The Crusaders notched first place finishes in nine events, as they defeated Maine and Stonehill to win the 2016 Holy Cross Invitational on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Alexandra Curtin (Winchester, Mass.) placed first overall in the 100 m dash, recording a time of 12.16 which I just 0.48 seconds off the Holy Cross record.
• Senior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) won the 800 m run with a time of 2:13.41, with sophomore Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa.) closely behind in second at 2:13.63.
• In the 1500 m run, junior Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.) earned the top finish, recording a time of 4:46.97.
• Sophomore Annie Sullivan (Southborough, Mass.) won the 5k race with a time of 17:47.32, nearly 23 seconds faster than the second place finisher.
• Sophomore Tori Zamarra (Manalapan, N.J.) placed second in the 100 m hurdles with a time of 14.94, 54 seconds off the school record.
• The squad of Gildea, Matherne, sophomore Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) and sophomore Meghan Dietter (Sherman, Conn.) earned the top finish in the 4x400 m relay with a time of 3:56.79.
• In the high jump, senior Melissa LaCoste (Amherst, N.H.) earned the top height at 1.65 m.
• Sophomore Jamison Briggs (Keene, N.H.) won the pole vault, setting a height of 3.40 m.
• In the triple jump, junior Alexa Eldracher (Woodbridge, Conn.) earned the best distance with a mark of 11.03 m.
• Junior Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) won the javelin throw with a distance of 35.32 m.
