• The Lead: The Holy Cross women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season with a 7-2 triumph over Roger Williams on Thursday afternoon in Bristol, R.I.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Holy Cross freshman Allison Reiling (Mendham, N.J.) won her No. 1 singles match over Harley Kaiserman in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, while she paired with sophomore Katie Elia (Erie, Pa.) to earn a No. 2 doubles victory over Kathryn Hughes and Gabrielle Riley, 8-5. Elia won her No. 4 singles match over Julia Akerman, 6-4, 6-1. 
• Senior Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) claimed a 6-3, 7-6 victory in No. 2 singles over Hughes, while she paired with freshman Morgan McGuire (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) to earn an 8-6 victory in No. 3 doubles. 
• Junior Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) picked up a No. 5 singles victory in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0, while freshman Caroline Kam (Stonington, Conn.) claimed a 6-1, 6-7, 8-0 triumph in No. 6 singles.
