HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Holy Cross gained a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Senior Nick Lovullo (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) scored the first run of the frame on an error, as Hassell scored the second run on an RBI-single by sophomore Thomas Russo (Weston, Mass.).

  • The Quakers tied the game back up in the fourth inning with one run to make the score 3-3.
  • Holy Cross countered right back in the top of the fifth inning with two runs to gain a 5-3 lead. Junior Anthony Critelli (Holmdel, N.J.) brought in senior Bobby Indeglia (North Kingstown, R.I.) on a RBI-single, and Lovullo scored later in the frame on a groundout by junior Alex Voitik (Shorewood, Ill.).
  • The Crusader bullpen only allowed two hits for the remainder of the game, as Holy Cross held on for a 5-3 victory.
