HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 12:59 of the first period and with AIC on the power play, Martin Mellberg sent a pass from behind the net to Blake Christensen who fired a one timer in the back of the net to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- At 15:24, Moore responded quickly for the Crusaders by scoring a power play goal. Sophomore forward Michael Laffin and senior forward Mike Barrett assisted on the play.
- Each team took 11 shots and went 1-1 on the power play in the first period.
- With one second left on the power play, Mellberg found the back of the net for AIC to go up 2-1 at the 9:35 mark in the second period.
- On a Holy Cross power play, Barrett passed the puck to freshman defender Dalton Skelly who blasted a shot that was redirected into the goal by junior forward Ryan Ferrill to tie the game at 2-2 at 14:50.
- With Holy Cross up two men, junior forward Scott Pooley fired a shot from the left face-off circle into the top right of the goal to give Holy Cross a one-goal lead going into the third period. Junior forward Danny Lopez and sophomore defenseman Johnny Coughlin assisted on the play.
- AIC outshot Holy Cross 13-11 while the Crusaders went 2-5 on the man-advantage and the Yellow Jackets went 1-1.
- The Crusaders took a 4-2 lead at 5:01 of the third period when Moore passed the puck to Darrar who carried it around the back of the net and ripped a shot high to give Holy Cross a 4-2 lead.
- At the 9:32 mark in the third period, Austin Orszulak fired a shot from the right face-off circle that hit right pipe and bounced in the net.
- Mellberg scored the equalizer off a pass from Hugo Reinhardt at 17:09 to tie the game at 4-4 and send the game into overtime.
- With 3.1 seconds remaining in overtime, sophomore defenseman Spencer Trapp's shot hit the post as the game ended in a 4-4 tie.

- AIC outshot Holy Cross, 36-26.
- Junior goalie Paul Berrafato recorded 32 saves, while Alex Murray tallied 22.
- Holy Cross went 3-6 on the power play, while AIC went 3-5.
- The Crusaders won 37 face-offs, while the Yellow Jackets secured 30.

- Darrar scored his first collegiate goal.
- This is the Crusaders best start to the season in four years when the team went 6-2-0 during the 2012-2013 season.
- With 30 goals this season, the Crusaders have scored their most goals to start the season in 14 years when they scored 40 goals in the 2002-2003 season.
