Women?s Track and Field Competes At Multiple Meets

THE BASICS:

Meets: RCC Tiger Relays (Boston, Mass.), Yale Collegiate Invitational (New Haven, Conn.), Rutgers Invitational (Piscataway, N.J.)
Date: January 9-10, 2016
The Lead: Holy Cross had athletes compete at the Roxbury Community College Tiger Relays, Yale Collegiate Invitational and Rutgers Invitational over the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

At the Tiger Relays, junior Cassie Kobelski (Andover, Mass.) placed second with a mark of 11.37 m in shot put.
At the Yale Invitational, freshman Sarah Friess (Castleton on Hudson, N.Y.) finished 13th in the 60 m dash with a time of 8.12, while junior Allison Maier (Orange, Conn.) finished 17th at 8.28 and sophomore Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) finished 18th at 8.30.
In the 200 m dash, McArdle came in ninth overall with a time of 26.87, while sophomore Kelly O'Halloran (Litchfield, Conn.) finished 21st at 27.67 and Friess finished 22nd at 27.70.
Senior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) finished seventh in the 1000 m run with a time of 3:04.91.
At the Rutgers Invitational, freshman Audrey O'Neill (Chester, N.J.) finished 19th in the 60 m dash with a time of 8.38, while junior Gabriela West (Chester, N.J.) finished 20th at 8.39.
O'Neill finished 16th in the 200 m dash at 27.32, while West finished 18th at 27.50 and sophomore Tori Zamarra (Manalapan, N.J.) finished 30th at 28.82.
Zamarra finished 12th in the 60 m hurdles with a time of 9.71.
Senior Alex Eckert (Bergenfield, N.J.) finished fifth in the triple jump at 10.59 m, and 13th in the long jump at 4.86 m.
