THE BASICS:

• Tournament: Grass Court Doubles Championship
• Location: Newport, R.I. (International Tennis Hall of Fame)
• The Lead: The Holy Cross women's tennis team won two of the three flights to claim the Grass Court Doubles Tournament championship on Saturday afternoon at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. The Crusaders combined for 16 points, as Colby-Sawyer came in second with 12 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Holy Cross duo of senior Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) and junior Isabela Bagi (Branford, Conn.) won the B Flight doubles championship. The pair defeated Johnson & Wales in the quarterfinals (8-2), Nichols in the semifinals (8-3) and Colby-Sawyer in the championship (8-6).
• Crusader sophomore Katie Elia (Erie, Pa.) and freshman Morgan McGuire (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) claimed the C Flight doubles championship. The duo topped Johnson & Wales in the quarterfinals (8-4), Bridgewater State in the semifinals (8-2) and UMass Dartmouth in the championship (8-1).
• The A Flight team of senior Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) and freshman Allison Reiling (Mendham, N.J.) won their first two matches over Nichols (8-1) and Salve Regina (8-0), but lost in the finals to Colby-Sawyer (8-1).
