Men's Track & Field Completes Patriot League Outdoor Championship Action

The Lead:
Junior Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) led Holy Cross as he finished fifth overall in the 800-meter run as the men's track and field team wrapped up action at the 2015 Patriot League Outdoor Championship on Saturday, hosted by Army West Point. Tejidor finished with a time of 1:53.79. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Other top-10 performances on the track Saturday for Crusaders included junior Kalif Raymond (Lawrenceville, Georgia), who finished sixth in the final heat of the 100-meter with an IC4A-qualifying time of 10.82. Senior Jereme Murray (State College, Pa.) followed Raymond in the 100-meter with a career-fastest time of 11.11 seconds. 
  •  Senior co-captain Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.) followed Tejidor in the 800-meter in seventh with a time of 1:54.34. 
  • In the 400-meter hurdles, the Crusaders had two top-10 finishes from sophomore William Ward (North Attleboro, Mass.) and freshman James Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y.). Ward finished in seventh at 56.01, while Donohue took 10th with a season-best time of 56.85. 
  • The 4 x 100-meter relay team comprised of senior Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.), Raymond, junior Dominic Abacherli (Boxborough, Mass.) and senior Mike Techiera (Foxborough, Mass.) finished sixth with a time of 42.92. 
  • Sophomore Kyle Quinn (North Andover, Mass.) competed in the decathlon and finished eighth overall with a score of 4,773 points. Quinn's top finish came in the pole vault where he cleared a career-best height of 4.30 meters and a second-place finish. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Navy took the Patriot League Outdoor Championship title for the third time with a total of 251.50 points. 
  • Army West Point followed in second (152), Bucknell placed third (137), Boston University placed fourth (135.50) and Lehigh rounded out the top five in fifth (92). 

UP NEXT 

  • Qualifying members of the men's track and field team will return to the track on Thursday through Saturday, May 7-9, at the New England Outdoor Championship beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and 10:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday in Cambridge, Mass.
