GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Crusaders grabbed the early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as Critelli and freshman Cam O'Neill (Lynn, Mass.) both had RBI-singles in the frame. Critelli drove in junior Nick Lovullo (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), while O'Neill scored Critelli.

  • The Crusaders added four insurance runs in the top of the fourth to go ahead 8-1. With the bases loaded, Ocello cashed in all three on a double down the left-field line to give Holy Cross the 7-1 advantage. Ocello scored later in the frame on a Critelli RBI-double to advance the Holy Cross lead to seven runs.
  • Holy Cross struck for another run in the top of the fifth inning, as Lovullo plated freshman Dan Vucovich (Lititz, Pa.) on an RBI-double to give the Crusaders the 9-1 lead.
