- The Lead: Every member of the Holy Cross women's tennis team won their respective singles and doubles matches, as the Crusaders earned the 7-0 victory over Johnson & Wales in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Holy Cross senior No. 1 singles player Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) won her match in straight sets over Morgan Thompson, 6-2, 6-1, while junior No. 2 singles player Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) claimed the 6-2, 6-2 win over Emily Glass. Stathis and Carroll also defeated Thompson and Glass in No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
- Crusader junior Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) picked up the 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 3 singles over Taylor Klein, while sophomore No. 6 singles player Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) earned the 6-0, 6-1 victory over Eliana Aponte. Deng and Bagi won their No. 3 doubles match over Samantha Gambino and Aponte, 8-0.
- Holy Cross junior Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) claimed the 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 4 singles over Bridget Bertone, while freshman Katie Elia (Erie, Pa.) won her No. 5 singles match over Gambino, 6-0, 6-1. Henry and Elia earned the No. 2 doubles point over Klein and Bertone, 8-0.
