The Lead: Freshman Annie Sullivan (Southborough, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 20th for the Holy Cross women as the team earned an overall fourth place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20.

• Sullivan led Holy Cross with a 20th place finish (18:47) in the 5K race, with freshmen Alexandria Benoit (Chester, N.J.) close behind in 27th (19:02) and Erin Ahern (Ringwood, N.J.) crossing the finish line two seconds later in 31st at 19:04.
• Freshman Elizabeth Lombardo (Wakefield, Mass.) came in 42nd (19:22), as junior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) took 26th with a 19:30 finish. Freshman Kate Spitler (Marshfield, Mass.) followed in 80th (19:57) with junior Katie Holdridge (Preston, Conn.) helping round out the top finishes for the Crusaders, coming in at 84th (20:01).
• In the junior varsity portion of the meet, Holy Cross finished third out of 16 teams. 
• Freshman Claire Turner (Norwalk, Conn.) placed first for the Crusaders at 19:10, with sophomores Kara McCormack (Bolton, Mass.) and Emily Iannaconi (Long Valley, N.J.) following in seventh (20:01) and 11th place (20:13).
• Freshman Haley Leishman (Suffield, Conn.) came in 33rd at 20:56, as sophomore Brittany Reeves (Reading, Mass.) followed in 37th (21:00) with classmate Caroline Morano (Ridgewood, N.J.) coming in 43rd (21:10). Freshman Liv Paulo (Tyngsboro, Mass.) rounded out the women's top finishers in 46th (21:13).

• The fourth place team finish was the highest at UMass since 2008 and 2011 where they finished in eighth.

• The women's team will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:00 a.m.
