THE BASICS:

• The Lead: Holy Cross junior Cassy Deng (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and sophomore Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) won the C Flight main draw to help lead the women's tennis team to a second place finish at the Salve Regina Doubles Invitational. Holy Cross, Colby-Sawyer and Nichols all tied with 12 total points apiece, but Colby-Sawyer won the tiebreaker over the Crusaders with a 3-2 head-to-head record.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Deng and Bagi began the C Flight with an 8-1 win over Curry in the quarterfinals, followed by an 8-6 victory over Colby-Sawyer in the semifinals. In the finals match, the duo defeated Nichols, 8-5, to earn the C Flight title.
• The Holy Cross Flight A team of senior Taylor Stathis (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) and junior Jaclyn Carroll (Tewksbury, Mass.) lost in the championship match to Colby-Sawyer, 8-3. The duo defeated Bridgewater State in the quarterfinals, 8-2, and Salve Regina in the semifinals, 8-2.
• Junior Abby Henry (Wellesley, Mass.) and freshman Katherine Elia (Erie, Pa.) won their Flight B quarterfinal match over UMass Dartmouth, 8-3, but lost to Colby-Sawyer in the semifinals, 8-4.
