WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman forward Aly Spencer (Tewksbury, Mass.) was named to the 2014 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Division I All-New England second team, as voted on by the head coaches from the region.
Selected to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic region second team and All-Patriot League first team, as well as being named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Spencer played and started in all 18 games and recorded 11 goals and three assists for 25 total points, including five game-winning goals. Her goals, points and game-winning goals marks all led the Patriot League. Spencer also became the 14th player in program history to record a hat trick on Aug. 25, and for her efforts earned the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week Award on Sept. 2.
Spencer's goals and points totals are tied for third and fifth, respectively, in the Holy Cross single-season record book. She was twice named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week in 2014.
