WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's rowing team completed its regular season by taking part in the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond. The Crusaders finished in a tie for 15th place in the event, which was won by Harvard with a total of 41 points.

In the varsity eight, Holy Cross placed fifth in the third-level final with a time of 6:09.208. Penn won the third-level final in a time of 5:53.880, while Harvard won the event by finishing first in the grand final with a time of 5:47.822.

The Crusaders' second varsity eight came in second in the third-level final in a time of 6:13.011. George Washington captured first in the third-level final with a time of 6:12.725, with Harvard winning the event in a time of 5:49.013 during the grand final.

The Holy Cross freshman eight took first place in the third-level final, finishing with a time of 6:16.909. Harvard also won that event, finishing first in the grand final in a time of 5:54.521.

The Crusaders' varsity four claimed fifth place in the grand final with a time of 7:42.303. Syracuse took first place in event in a time of 6:54.199.

Selected Holy Cross boats will conclude the 2011 season at the IRA national championship regatta, which will take place from June 2-4 in Camden, N.J.

Holy Cross varsity four: John Gentile (coxswain), Tom Schoenberger, Patrick Kokoszka, Matthew Achariam, J.D. Power.
