Yarmouth, Maine - Senior Marsalis Beckford (Brantford, Ontario) made it happen again for the Holy Cross men's soccer team, scoring the lone goal to push the Crusaders past Maine, 1-0. Beckford has now recorded two goals and one assist in two games for the Crusaders.

With 30:24 left in the first half, Beckford sprinted down the field with ball possession dipping left then right to put it past Maine goalie Nemanja Kostic.

Sophomore Thomas Booth (Patchogue, N.Y.) made three saves for Holy Cross and Kostic stopped five shots for the Black Bears.

Holy Cross improves to 2-0 while the Black Bears now stand at 1-1. The men's soccer team returns to action at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium on Saturday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m. hosting Quinnipiac.
