WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior defender
Julian Beban and junior midfielder
Wade Johnson, members of the Holy Cross men's soccer team, have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squad. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, while playing in at least 90 percent or starting at least 66 percent of his team's games.
Beban makes his second appearance on the Academic All-District team, after previously being honored in 2024. He played in all 18 games for the Crusaders this season, starting 15 times and ranking fifth on the team with 1,252 minutes played. Beban was a key part of a defense that posted a goals against average of 1.28 on the year with three shutouts. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he tallied five points on one goal and three assists, while playing in 64 games with 53 starts and seeing 4,607 minutes of action. In the classroom, Beban carries a 3.73 cumulative grade point average with a major in mathematics.
Johnson appeared in all 18 games for the Crusaders, starting 16 times and ranking second on the squad with 1,322 minutes played. Throughout his collegiate career, he has four points on one goal and two assists in 42 games played. In the classroom, Johnson owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average with a major in political science.
Holy Cross finished the season with an overall record of 4-8-6 and a 1-5-3 mark in the Patriot League.
