Worcester, Mass. - Mark Price scored the game-winning goal with 6:40 left in the game as Lafayette defeated Holy Cross, 2-1, in the Patriot League semifinals. Lafayette will face the winner of the Colgate and Bucknell game Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
The Leopards struck first after a scoreless first half as Steve Ference netted a direct kick 22 yards out into the lower right corner of the net. With 21:41 left to play, Lafayette held a 1-0 lead over the Crusaders.
A cross from Chip Aronica to Price lifted Lafayette to a 2-0 lead over the Crusaders.
With 1:20 left in the game, Alejandro Melean (Miami, Fla.) scored the lone goal for the Crusaders off of a penalty kick.
Sophomore goalkeeper Thomas Booth (Patchogue, N.Y.) had seven stops while the Leopards' Philip Nelson made seven saves.
The Crusaders end their 2007 season at 8-6-5 and 4-0-3 in the Patriot League.
