• The Lead: The Holy Cross men's golf team finished in fifth place out of five teams at the New England Division I Championship, hosted by Rhode Island, on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19 at the Par-72 Newport National Golf Club in Middletown, R.I. The Crusaders combined to shoot a team score of 647 strokes (+71), as Rhode Island won the event with a team total of 595 (+19)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Holy Cross was led by senior captain Connor Burfeind (Falmouth, Maine) who finished tied for 19th with a two-day total of 159 (+15). Senior captain Craig Norton (Foxboro, Mass.) tied for 23rd place, one stroke behind Burfeind with a total score of 160 (+16).
• Sophomore Cameron Murray (Traverse City, Mich.) came in 28th place with a two-round sum of 163 (+19), while sophomore  Connor McGuirk (Lexington, Mass.) and junior Jonah Choe (Billerica, Mass.) shot a 165 (+21) and 179 (+35), respectively.
