WETHERSFIELD, Conn. – Junior
Ryan Scollins finished in 17th place as an individual, as the Holy Cross men's golf squad came in ninth as a team in the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at the Wethersfield Country Club.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
• Scollins shot 72-73 to finish the tournament at three-over par (145).
• Junior
Thomas O'Neill came in 21st, posting scores of 77-70 (147).
• Junior
Alex Elia earned a 28th place finish, shooting 74-74 (148).
• Rounding out the field for the Crusaders were senior
Matthew Williams (56th / 154) and senior
Brian Glennon (72nd / 163).
• Luke Stennett of Rhode Island claimed first place as an individual at nine-under par (133).
TEAM SCORES:
• Rhode Island took home the team title with a two-round total of 564 (four-under par).
• Holy Cross finished with a total of 594 strokes, tying with Patriot League foe Army.
COACH'S CORNER:
• "We did not play our best golf at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial," said head coach
Steve Napoli. "Up next is the UConn Invitational. We will look to build on this performance as we move on to Greathorse next week."
UP NEXT:
• The Crusaders return to action when they take part in the UConn Invitational at the Greathorse Country Club in Hampden, Mass., from Sept. 28-30.
