Holy Cross Athletics

WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Naemi Herzig scored a pair of goals to lead the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Delaware at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders improve to 1-0-1 on the season, while the Blue Hens fall to 0-1-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
• Herzig opened the scoring with her first goal less than five minutes into the game.
• Just over two minutes later, senior Lulu Rourke found the net to give Holy Cross a 2-0 lead.
• In the second period, junior Amanda Aslan knocked in a rebound on the power play to put the Crusaders up 3-0.
• Herzig then concluded the scoring in the third period with a power play goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Freshman Livia Debnarova picked up her first career shutout while making 19 saves.
• Sophomore Brooklyn Deck posted a career-high two assists on the afternoon.
• Holy Cross finished the game with a 40-19 advantage in shots on goal.

NEXT UP:
• The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, Oct. 1, when they play host to Assumption at 7 p.m.
