Field hockey falls to Lafayette

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Lafayette, 1-0, Friday afternoon at the Hart Turf Field. 

With the win, Lafayette improves to 8-1 (2-0 PL), while Holy Cross moves to 5-3 (1-1 PL). 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • The two teams were deadlocked going into the halftime break with neither team recording a shot or corner attempt in the first 30 minutes of play. 
  • Lafayette struck in the third quarter, batting in a rebound for the second shot of the game. 
  • Holy Cross earned the lone corner of the matchup but was unable to score. 

THE GOALKEEPERS:
  • Holy Cross: Junior Mia McCloskey - 1 save, 1 goal allowed
  • Lafayette: Addison Kahn - 1 save, shutout

UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross will hit the road to face the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12 p.m. in Durham, N.H.
