ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Holy Cross women's track and field team concluded day one of the Patriot League Championships on Friday, May 15 at the United States Naval Academy. The Crusaders currently sit in sixth place with 11 total points heading into Saturday.

Senior Celia Kulis qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles following a standout performance, placing first with a time of 13.47 in the prelims. Her time broke both the Holy Cross program record as well as the facility record at Navy's Ingram Field.

Kulis also enters Saturday as the leader in the women's heptathlon with 3,302 total points. She has taken first in the 100m hurdles (13.66) and shot put (12.59m), placed second in the 200m (25.14), and finished fifth in the high jump (1.66m).

MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Junior Shannon Briseno placed fifth in the women's pole vault, clearing a personal best height of 3.88m.
• Senior Ester Mokonchu finished seventh in the hammer throw with a new personal best of 50.43m.
• Sophomore Aluna Coogan-Coyne qualified for the 1,500m final with a time of 4:29.76, finishing seventh in the prelim.
• Senior Giavanna Ciaravino qualified for the 100m dash final, clocking in a time of 11.92 to finish fifth in the prelim.
• Junior Grace Ryan placed fourth in the javelin with a top mark of 42.78m.
